PROSPECTS:
Colonel George Armstrong Custer
announced the gold discovery on
French Creek near
Custer in 1874. They say the news
triggered the Black Hills Gold Rush
and made a
population of Deadwood town up to
5,000 very quickly. Today tons of
gold are still there to be
discovered in French Creek.
We are offering a gold mining claim
in the famous French Creek.
Comparing to the neighboring
claims, this claim is located in the
wide open field, which make it easy
to mine. You find numerous
attracting mining spots, such as
riffles, pools, rapids and natural
bars. The French Creek is well-
known for a panning, though this
claim is good for sluicing, high-
banking, dredging or metal
detecting. You need a permit for
high-banking or dredging in South
Dakota.
Within the claim’s boundary, there
are a few good spots for a camping.
There are also numerous National
Forest or private campgrounds in
the area. For private campgrounds,
we highly recommend to make a
reservation away in advance,
especially during a summer time.
