PROSPECTS:
This is within a historically-rich section of the
Klamath River. The Klamath River is a proven
gold-bearing river. Anyone is going to recover
some gold if one gives it even a little effort. The
Klamath River in this area has very attracting
stream and land structures, which allow a miner
to use various mining methods. With very easy-
accessible and wide-open area, this claim is
excellent area for you to bring your family, and
everybody can enjoy mining!!
The river starts with nice riffles where you can
mine with several mining methods, such as
panning or sluicing, then flowing into the deeper
pool. The bottom is covered with some
bedrocks and boulders. Although the deep area
will require an advance skill to mine with limited
mining methods, in the middle section, there are
several shallow stretch areas where you or your
family enjoy panning. The shallow areas are
excellent for sluicing. This claims is also
excellent for dredging if a dredging is allowed in
the near future*.
The ‘off-stream’ area is another attraction of
this claim; there are nice exposed bedrocks
along the shoreline in both sides of the river,
where you could explore with a high-grade gold
detector. There are also a few gravel bars
where is worth to explore. There is great high-
banking potential along the shoreline as well.
Or you could approach soft-sand bank area for
more mining; you could set up a sluice box in
the riffles, and make a trip with a 5 gallon
bucket.
Even though this claims is excellent for all kind
of miners, it is a very nice and peaceful area
where a person could just relax and enjoy
surrounding nature, or beginners could get
started in a mining environment that is not too
difficult. Definitely it is a good place where you
could take your family or love one with.
Note*:
a dredging permit has been hold temporarily
until the DFG complete the update
environmental Impact report. They say the new
regulations may reduce numbers
of dredging permits but allow smaller sizes
dredging machine.
